In the last decade, research investigating crossmodal interactions in taste perception has seen a quick rise in popularity (see Piqueras-Fiszman, & Spence, 2015, for a recent review). Some of these studies have investigated the effects of shape and sound symbolisms in beverage and food perception (Gallace & Spence, 2011; Ngo, Piqueras-Fiszman, & Spence, 2012; Spence & Gallace, 2011). Here, in two laboratory studies, first we investigated if participants differently matched the non-words “Maluma” and “Takete” to the words pairs that represent certain characteristics that are evaluated in mineral water. Second we assessed if the pseudo-words “Maluma” and “Takete” used as verbal label for three kinds of mineral water, can modulate the perception of several characteristics of the beverage.

Abstract
Second we assessed if the pseudo-words “Maluma” and “Takete” used as verbal label for three kinds of mineral water, can modulate the perception of several characteristics of the beverage.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
