The Protein Ontology (PRO) is a publicly available resource providing an ontological representation of proteins and protein-related entities. The protein ontology does not only provide a classification of protein-related products, but also furnishes semantic relationships between these entities, and links every protein product with popular databases and resources such as the Gene Ontology and UniProtKB. PRO is the only controlled structured dictionary available for proteins nowadays, and therefore it can be seen as an essential resource for any proteomics study.

Abstract
The Protein Ontology (PRO) is a publicly available resource providing an ontological representation of proteins and protein-related entities. The protein ontology does not only provide a classification of protein-related products, but also furnishes semantic relationships between these entities, and links every protein product with popular databases and resources such as the Gene Ontology and UniProtKB. PRO is the only controlled structured dictionary available for proteins nowadays, and therefore it can be seen as an essential resource for any proteomics study.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
