The presentation of the University Library "Front Office Project ", briefly explains the Action Research method (history, applications, features, and process), then reports five phases of the action research project about library services: 1 ) Diagnosis by benchmarking among Italian university library services, literature analysis about library services and surveys, quantitative survey (questionnaires) and qualitative survey (interviews) addressed to users (students, teachers, etc.), 2) Planning of actions to improve library services in the light of the results from the work of diagnosis, 3) Implementation of improvement actions referring various areas (marketing, information literacy, reference, loan, interlibrary loan and document delivery, reading rooms) 4) Assessment of the improvement realized; 5) Reflections of the staff involved and the inner and the outer sharing of the project.
Nella presentazione del “Progetto Front Office” della Biblioteca di Ateneo, prima viene illustrato brevemente il metodo della ricerca-azione (storia, applicazioni, caratteristiche e processo) e poi si ripercorrono le 5 fasi del progetto di ricerca-azione sui servizi bibliotecari: 1) Diagnosi mediante benchmarking dei servizi tra biblioteche universitarie italiane, analisi della letteratura sui servizi bibliotecari, indagine quantitativa (questionari) e qualitativa (interviste) rivolta agli utenti (studenti, docenti etc.); 2) Pianificazione di azioni migliorative alla luce dei risultati emersi dal lavoro di diagnosi; 3) Realizzazione di azioni migliorative rispetto a vari ambiti (comunicazione esterna, formazione degli utenti, reference, prestito, servizi interbibliotecari, sale lettura); 4) Valutazione degli interventi di miglioramento realizzati; 5) Riflessioni dello staff coinvolto e condivisione interna ed esterna del progetto.
