This paper investigates the semantics of tense and aspect in Italian with particular attention to Perfect constructions. It argues that temporal homogeneity is a relevant factor for tense selection and the sentence aspectual meaning; it claims that the perfect morphology is ambiguous between the spell out of state of result constructions and Priorean temporal operators, in Italian.
