Plasma processing of materials is an innovative technology whose industrial application is growing at a fast pace. Its unique feature is the capability to produce a chemically reactive environment in gas-phase at room temperature, which is in a dry environment, with only small amounts of chemicals. Here we present results on the plasma processing of textiles obtained in the recently instituted Center of Excellence PlasmaPrometeo at the Milano-Bicocca University aimed at the research, development and technological transfer in the field of plasmas. First we review plasma grafting on artificial and natural fibers aimed to obtain hydro-repellency on textiles, without preventing transpiration and water vapour diffusion. Then we present results concerning the incorporation of suitable nanoparticles in textiles by means of a so-called dusty plasma

Abstract
Then we present results concerning the incorporation of suitable nanoparticles in textiles by means of a so-called dusty plasmaI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
