Public services are frequently delivered to citizens combining the effort of specialized providers to build complex and comprehensive services. This paper focuses on information and knowledge required by decision makers to optimally compose combined services. Both service (final) customers and managers may be required to make decisions. The former may be required to choose among competing providers, managers may be required to choose how to externalize activities or how to obtain missing competencies. The authors study how decision making tasks could be improved by Web 2.0 approaches and their potential effects in the public service sector (achieving the Public services 2.0).
