Ponderomotive effects produced by high power electrostatic waves in a magnetized plasma have been investigated experimentally. The ponderomotive forces produce density cavities in front of the antenna system and cause modifications of the wave envelopes. Both density profiles and frequency-wavevector spectra of the signal injected in the plasma are experimentally analyzed.
