The purpose of this talk is to give an overview of Stata's potential for spatial data analysis. First, the use of -spmap- for thematic and analytical mapping is illustrated. Then, kernel density estimation of two-dimensional spatial point patterns is discussed. Finally, Stata commands for detecting spatial autocorrelation and fitting spatial regression models are briefly presented.
