This paper aims at analyzing some “word formats” of Italian that emerged from a corpus-based research for the creation of CombiNet dictionary. The analysis of such data has revealed the existence in the Italian lexicon of many syntagmatic structures and word formats which have not yet been described in the literature. This contribution intends to present particular Italian word formats and to discuss their specific properties (e.g. the relationship between combinatorial profiles and the function they held in the sentence).
