This study investigates collectible design, a growing market category that blends functionality with symbolic value. The Delphi method was used to explore characteristics and market dynamics. Following a review of the literature and analysis of qualitative interviews, valuable insights emerged. These insights led to the development of a questionnaire, which was subsequently administered to a panel of experts. The findings highlight the hybrid nature of this category, which spans historical and contemporary rare items. The results also reveal tensions between economic and symbolic drivers as well as pragmatic and figurative approaches. This study provides a foundational framework for understanding collectible design and offers actionable insights for stakeholders.
