In this ebook, we explore the organizational impacts of the COVID-19 health emergency on healthcare facilities and frontline workers through the lens of the Theory of Organizational Action (TAO). Our analysis shows that the pandemic not only disrupted organizational functioning, but it also exposed the often-implicit core logics of these systems. By examining interview protocols that address changes in work processes, practices, and the emotional and relational experiences of workers, we aim to uncover the underlying assumptions guiding their actions. We emphasize the role of emotions, as we believe emotional insights are crucial for reconfiguring concepts and understanding actions that characterize organizational action.
