Palestine: the Future is free

Genocide, acute military violence, ethnic cleansing, forced migration, decades of human rights violations and land theft inevitably generate extreme collective traumas. Yet, as celebrated Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish professed, Palestinians “suffer from an incurable malady: hope.” Where is the hope for Palestinian people? How can healing and meaningful justice be found in the shadow of such atrocity? Is there hope in international law, international solidarity, decolonial frameworks? The Palestinian cause is not a cause for Palestinians only, but a cause for every revolutionary, wherever he is, as a cause of the exploited and oppressed masses in our era. - Ghassan Kanafani
