This article aims at proposing a wider appraisal about the complex implications of Brexit in the recent evolution of the British Constitution. After clarifying the historical and cultural preconditions of this event, it focuses on the political and legal value of the 2016 Referendum. Finally, the contribution analyses the important role played by jurisprudence and legislation, as well as the problematic spill-over effects on the Devolution process, taking a look at the uncertain perspectives regarding the political integrity of the United Kingdom.
Questo articolo intende proporre alcune riflessioni sulle complesse implicazioni della Brexit sulle recenti evoluzioni della Costituzione britannica. Dopo avere chiarito le premesse storiche e culturali della vicenda, si concentra sulla valenza politica e giuridica del Referendum del 2016. Infine, il contributo analizza il rilevante ruolo giocato dalla giurisprudenza e dalla legislazione, nonché le problematiche ricadute sul processo devolutivo, con uno sguardo alle prospettive incerte riguardanti l’integrità politica del Regno Unito.
