Liquid argon TPC (LAr-TPC) is an ideal detection technology for neutrino physics, combining excellent 3D spatial reconstruction and calorimetry. The ICARUS-T600 detector is the first large scale detector of this typology and its operation with the CNGS neutrino beam proved the maturity of the technique, while providing important results in sterile neutrino searches. A verification of the existence of sterile neutrinos with optimal sensitivity will be possible with the SBN experiment at the FNAL Booster beam, using three LAr-TPCs at different distances along the beamline. ICARUS, that will be the SBN far detector, was extensively refurbished for surface operations. Data taking is expected to begin in mid 2020.

Abstract
Data taking is expected to begin in mid 2020.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
