We report the first results of a program of 33 GHz polarimetric observations of the CMB, at angular scales of 7 and 14 degrees. The observations were made from the Italian base at Terra Nova Bay. We were able to set upper limits of less than 10(-4) on the degree of linear polarization of the CMB. We describe plans to reduce the receiver noise, and to move the experiment to Dome C in Austral Summer 1998-99.

Abstract
We report the first results of a program of 33 GHz polarimetric observations of the CMB, at angular scales of 7 and 14 degrees. The observations were made from the Italian base at Terra Nova Bay. We were able to set upper limits of less than 10(-4) on the degree of linear polarization of the CMB. We describe plans to reduce the receiver noise, and to move the experiment to Dome C in Austral Summer 1998-99.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
