Anthropology and the integration of the sciences. Some reflections on Tullio Seppilli's legacy

This article is inspired by Tullio Seppilli s reflections on the need for integration of the so-called human or social sciences with the physical and natural sciences. This theme constituted a central point of Seppilli's theoretical critique and of his understanding of what he called «the social role of the anthropologist». His trans-scientific commitment was characterized by an efficacious "anthropology of praxis" of Gramscian origins which crossed Seppilli's existence and founded his extraordinary and unmatched ability to combine the theoretical efforts with the ethico-political and social ones. The essay intends to offer a contribution which, although it moves away from the perspectives developed by Seppilli, it attempts to dialogue with their indications and suggestions. Adopting an hermeneutical approach alien to Seppilli's perspectives, the article shares with them the attempt to confer to the discipline of anthropology the task to pursue a trans-scientific project based on possible forms of integration between the sciences. It does so by using the notion of ob-jectification, i.e. by characterizing all sciences, independendy of their degrees of formalization, through the procedures of construction of their objects.
