This contribution introduces the Pedagogical Guidelines of the Municipal Educational Services for children between zero-six years in the city of Milano as foreseen by an official resolution of the Educational Sector of the city, which charged the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan and the University of Milano-Bicocca to support and supervise the process of elaboration. In the contribution the authors highlight the meaning and functions of the Guidelines, illustrate the participatory character of the process involving all professionals engaged in the ECEC Services and presents the founding principles that inspire and guide the document. The Pedagogical Guidelines are proposed as an “open document” and are founded on the history and tradition of the City and at the same time aim to introduce pedagogical innovation. They represent a fundamen-tal step for a new and balanced educational approach. They are inspired both by current research and literature and by good and original practices, rooted in the City of Milano and its long lasting experience and engagement in ECEC.
Il contributo presenta le Linee di orientamento pedagogiche per i servizi edu-cativi 0-6 anni del Comune di Milano, evidenziandone il significato e le funzioni previste fin dalla determina dirigenziale che attribuì l’incarico di supportarne l’e-laborazione all’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore e all’Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca; ripercorrendone il processo elaborativo, caratterizzato dal coin-volgimento di tutti i professionisti dell’educazione in servizio all’interno del Settore servizi all’infanzia e dalla supervisione delle Università milanesi; presentando i prin-cipi fondativi che ispirano e orientano il documento. Le Linee pedagogiche rappre-sentano una tappa fondamentale nel percorso, in equilibrio tra valorizzazione della storia e della tradizione e introduzione di innovazioni pedagogiche, ispirate dalla letteratura e dalle buone pratiche a livello nazionale e internazionale, di definizione della specificità dei servizi educativi per la prima infanzia della città di Milano.
