Synovial chondromatosis (CS) of the shoulder is a rare condition. Authors describe a case of CS in a sixteen girl, with intraarticular loose bodies, shoulder pain, decreased range of motion and erosive damage of articular surface. Furthermore extraaarticular loose bodies are located in the long head of the biceps tendon sheath, without symptoms. Arthroscopy approach allows for better visualization of the entire glenohumeral joint, easier removal of loose body, possibility to make synoviectomy, decreased postoperative pain, early active range of motion, shorter course of rehabilitation, and earlier functional return.

Abstract
Synovial chondromatosis (CS) of the shoulder is a rare condition. Authors describe a case of CS in a sixteen girl, with intraarticular loose bodies, shoulder pain, decreased range of motion and erosive damage of articular surface. Furthermore extraaarticular loose bodies are located in the long head of the biceps tendon sheath, without symptoms. Arthroscopy approach allows for better visualization of the entire glenohumeral joint, easier removal of loose body, possibility to make synoviectomy, decreased postoperative pain, early active range of motion, shorter course of rehabilitation, and earlier functional return.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
