This paper examines the class of the sparse glazed pottery coming from the castle of Donoratico located in the town of Castagneto Carducci (LI). The aim of this research is to establish the chronology and provenance of this ceramic class manufactured with a single firing and to identifying the possible production centers. A large number of archaeometric analyses have been added to the traditional typological and formal study of the pottery fragments. The results are shown here with the absolute analysis performed on sparse glazed ceramics from contexts relating to the phase of the early medieval construction site of the castle of Donoratico. The technique used was that of thermoluminescence which provided the age determination of the ceramic materials.
