Deuterium NMR data for tris(o-phenylendioxy)spirocyclotriphosphazene (TPP) and H-bonded inclusion compds. (ICs) with linear polyethylene (PE) and alkanes and PEO demonstrate that rapid motions including librations and torsion of the chain occur in the nanochannels. The PE and linear alkanes confined in restricted cylindrical spaces of TPP present motions in the liq. regime already at low temp., and the chain mobility is faster than that in the wider channels of PHTP (perhydrotriphenylene). The extra room in PHTP promotes defects, while tightness likely promotes smooth chain motions.

Abstract
Deuterium NMR data for tris(o-phenylendioxy)spirocyclotriphosphazene (TPP) and H-bonded inclusion compds. (ICs) with linear polyethylene (PE) and alkanes and PEO demonstrate that rapid motions including librations and torsion of the chain occur in the nanochannels. The PE and linear alkanes confined in restricted cylindrical spaces of TPP present motions in the liq. regime already at low temp., and the chain mobility is faster than that in the wider channels of PHTP (perhydrotriphenylene). The extra room in PHTP promotes defects, while tightness likely promotes smooth chain motions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
