We have computed in perturbative QCD the structure function g2(x, Q2) of polarised leptoproduction at order αs on a quark target of mass m. Upon taking the first moment we find that it vanishes exactly at all orders in m2/Q2 as demanded by the validity of the Burkhardt-Cottingham sum rule, contrary to a recent claim. © 1994.
