Dalla rappesentazione del mondo alla percezione del mistico. Il primo Wittgenstein e la conoscenza geografica

From the representation of the world to the perception of the Mystical. The early Wittgenstein and the geographical knowledge. - Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951) was called the "philosopher geographer" because of the interesting influences he has exerted on geography. Faced with his vast philosophical production, this article focuses its attention on examining the contribution that the first period of his thought can offer to contemporary geographical science in its effort to wish to become a source of legitimate and, above all, efficient knowledge of reality. Starting from the Viennese philosopher's peculiar concept of truth, as non-direct but intermediated by a proposition adaequatio between res and intellectus, this work reflects upon the heuristic role of representations, in particular cartographical ones, and about the possibility, even through geography, of some perception, if not knowledge, of the ineffable.

Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951) è stato definito il "filosofo geografo" per gli interessanti stimoli che ha esercitato nei confronti della geografia. Dinanzi alla sua vasta produzione filosofica, in questo articolo ci si è limitati a esaminare il contributo che la prima fase del suo pensiero può offrire alla scienza geografica contemporanea nel suo voler essere una fonte di conoscenza legittima e soprattutto efficace della realtà. Partendo dal concetto, proprio del filosofo viennese, di verità quale adaequatio fra res e intellectus non 436 diretta ma intermediata da una proposizione, si riflette sul ruolo euristico delle rappresentazioni, in particolare cartografiche, e sulla possibilità, anche attraverso la geografia, di una certa Qual percezione, se non proprio di conoscenza, dell'ineffabile.
