In three experiments (N=183) we analyzed whether and how social attention driven by the observation of other’s movement toward an object is modulated by social variables (membership). Results showed a robust effect of grasping on individual's attention and a more rapid detection when observing a outgroup member perceived as menacing (Iraqui) grasping threat-related objects (a weapon).

Abstract
In three experiments (N=183) we analyzed whether and how social attention driven by the observation of other’s movement toward an object is modulated by social variables (membership). Results showed a robust effect of grasping on individual's attention and a more rapid detection when observing a outgroup member perceived as menacing (Iraqui) grasping threat-related objects (a weapon).File in questo prodotto:
