The article consists of three parts. The first one analyzes the main transformations in society, art, design and architecture produced by the rising of programming environments for artists and designers. The second one is a review of the book FORM+CODE (Reas, Mc.Williams, LUST (2010) Princeton Architectural Press) and it concerns the need for new educational tools that enable designers and artists to deal with programming. The article ends with an interview with the authors.
