Il turismo in cifre della regione Friuli Venezia Giulia in un approccio statistico geografico

This paper proposes a quantitative analysis of tourism demand and supply in Friuli Venezia Giulia Region for the time period 2004-2007. So as to highlight differences and heterogeneities within the regional territory, we adopt an integrated statistical-geographic approach. Following this latter, typical indicators of this kind of studies, i.e. tourist arrivals, presences, average permanence, rates of receptivity, of utilization of tourist structures are based on and interpreted by means of a more significant functional repartition of the regional territory, in addition to the traditional administrative partitioning into the four existing provinces. This functional repartition splits up the territory into homogeneous tourist areas, distinguishing, in particular, amongst historic and artistic places, mountain resort, seaside and thermal places.
