Within an anthropological framework, the social process of progressive contextualization of individuals, of acquisition of cultural resources, and of the necessary expertise and knowledge to move culturally and meaningfully into the social space is intended in terms of a progressive reduction of indeterminacy [Geertz 1987; Remotti 2013]. It is a process that produces new members of a society based on more or less rigid patterns. Starting from the evidence that uncertainty of the future unfolds contemporary societies, I propose a reflection on the processes that can cause a social expansion of uncertainty. From a theoretical point of view and on the basis of ethnographic indexes I present an analysis of some conditions that erode the sense of belonging, that kind of "feel at home" which is premise and result of social relationships based on the management of uncertainty of the future, and provoke moral and material conflicts (and even violence).

Abstract
Within an anthropological framework, the social process of progressive contextualization of individuals, of acquisition of cultural resources, and of the necessary expertise and knowledge to move culturally and meaningfully into the social space is intended in terms of a progressive reduction of indeterminacy [Geertz 1987; Remotti 2013]. It is a process that produces new members of a society based on more or less rigid patterns. Starting from the evidence that uncertainty of the future unfolds contemporary societies, I propose a reflection on the processes that can cause a social expansion of uncertainty. From a theoretical point of view and on the basis of ethnographic indexes I present an analysis of some conditions that erode the sense of belonging, that kind of "feel at home" which is premise and result of social relationships based on the management of uncertainty of the future, and provoke moral and material conflicts (and even violence).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
