LEONARDO and ANATOMY - Leonardo da Vinci approached anatomic studies through the“Artistic Anatomy”, practised by painters of his age for a better reproduction of human features. But the “wonderful human machine” fascinates abruptly Leonardo, who, in addition to muscolo-scheletric apparatus searched into internal organs and into movements and forces produced through levers by the human body; he also studied circulatory, urinary and reproductive systems. Leonardo gave an important impulse to Anatomo-Phisiology in Europe and also to the beginning branch of Anatomo-Pathology, investigating the modification of organs with age and even looking for the causes of death.

Abstract
LEONARDO and ANATOMY - Leonardo da Vinci approached anatomic studies through the“Artistic Anatomy”, practised by painters of his age for a better reproduction of human features. But the “wonderful human machine” fascinates abruptly Leonardo, who, in addition to muscolo-scheletric apparatus searched into internal organs and into movements and forces produced through levers by the human body; he also studied circulatory, urinary and reproductive systems. Leonardo gave an important impulse to Anatomo-Phisiology in Europe and also to the beginning branch of Anatomo-Pathology, investigating the modification of organs with age and even looking for the causes of death.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
