The author analyses the dramatic problem facing us today: on the one hand, laws, universal declarations on the rights of children and highly advanced theories and experiments in defending and protecting childhood have evolved but, on the other, we can observe with anguish the proliferation of violence in general and definitely great violence against children. The author asks why all the great theoretical and scientific progress, the increased awareness of the problems of childhood, the social and socio-educational services at the disposal of families, the supervision and constant training of operators, the spread of blogs and in general of websites on children, fail to have a sufficient impact on the constant violation of childhood. Our society moves in a deep-reaching and radical traumatization, which has to do with the violence that human beings have always perpetrated on one another, not only physically or sexually but also psychologically and with education. The traumatization has led to dissociation, through phenomena of negation and repression of pain in contemporary society. The author points out the need to proceed with a lucid although painful acknowledgement of the state of things, acting through educational practices aimed at repairing and empowerment
L’autore analizza il problema drammatico di fronte al quale ci troviamo oggi: da un lato vi è stato lo sviluppo di leggi, convenzioni universali sui diritti dei bambini, teorie ed esperienze molto all’avanguardia nella difesa e nella tutela dell’infanzia ma, dall’altro lato, si osserva con angoscia il proliferare della violenza in generale e, certamente, di una forte violenza nei confronti dell’infanzia. L’autore si chiede: perché i tanti progressi teorici e scientifici, l’accresciuta sensibilizzazione ai problemi dell’infanzia, i servizi sociali e socio-educativi messi a disposizione delle famiglie, la supervisione e la formazione costante degli operatori, la diffusione di blog e in generale di siti web dedicati all’infanzia, non riescono a incidere a sufficienza sulla violazione costante dell’infanzia? La nostra società si muove dentro a una traumatizzazione profonda, radicale, che ha a che fare con la violenza che gli esseri umani da sempre perpetrano gli uni sugli altri, non solo fisicamente o sessualmente ma anche psicologicamente e con l’educazione. La traumatizzazione ha portato alla dissociazione, attraverso fenomeni di negazione e di rimozione del dolore nella società contemporanea. L’autore segnala la necessità di procedere a una presa d’atto lucida per quanto dolorosa dello stato delle cose, agendo attraverso pratiche educative volte alla riparazione e alla responsabilizzazione
