We present a model which allows to define in an uniform way information quality dimensions related to heterogeneous types of information, such as structured data managed in data bases, semi-structured and unstructured texts and images. We first define a set of concepts that allow to represent several basic characteristics of such heterogeneous types of information. Then, we introduce a general categorization of quality dimensions and sul>-(liinensions, which are then specialized to structured data, semi- and unstructured texts and images. In so doing, we provide, to our knowledge, a first attempt to unify the information quality issue for heterogeneous information types.

Abstract
We present a model which allows to define in an uniform way information quality dimensions related to heterogeneous types of information, such as structured data managed in data bases, semi-structured and unstructured texts and images. We first define a set of concepts that allow to represent several basic characteristics of such heterogeneous types of information. Then, we introduce a general categorization of quality dimensions and sul>-(liinensions, which are then specialized to structured data, semi- and unstructured texts and images. In so doing, we provide, to our knowledge, a first attempt to unify the information quality issue for heterogeneous information types.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
