Working with Economic and Business English has been written for Italian students of English in higher education who are studying economics and/or business or professional studies. The book , following the guidelines laid down by the European Framework on Foreign Language Learning, presumes a B1 staring level of level of linguistic competence in English. The book has two contingent aims: to provide the linguistic and thematic knowledge to accompany the students’ higher education studies and to provide them with language skills which will be useful in the professional environments young people typically encounter in today’s ever-more international working world. More than a decade of experience working in a variety of higher education environments in Italy has shown that many students arrive with an uncertain grasp of the structure of English grammar and an inadequate store of specialised vocabulary with which to address their chosen course in economics or business. This linguistic shortfall, if not remedied, is likely to be a hindrance to young people’s future professional prospects in a globalised world. Working with Economic and Business English attempts to answer these needs by offering clear and precise grammar explanations, ample opportunity for application and reinforcement with stimulating and appropriate activities. Each of the 15 units also offer a theme of current economic or business relevance and exercises to explore the relevant vocabulary to this theme. The specific economic and business vocabulary is reinforced in the exercise in the language structure practice.

Abstract
The specific economic and business vocabulary is reinforced in the exercise in the language structure practice.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
